can we SAVE the GARMENT CENTER?

save garment center logoLast year an important new group established themselves in Manhattan, with the lofty goal of saving our garment district. I tried to sign up as a volunteer during the February shows, but I couldn’t make the times available (there were only a few shows left by the time I heard about them). It may not be much (I would have been giving out pins and flyers), but at least it is something.

Their website, “save the garment center“, is a valuable source of information about how and why our fashion area is shrinking so fast, and what we can do to try and help. The group holds meetings that are open to the public, has a petition as well as further news on their website, and is our best hope at keeping the garment district alive. Please check it out!
